The Catholic Schools Initiative (CSI) is a mission-related community service employment program that allows DePaul University students to work in selected K - 12 urban Catholic schools to provide tutoring, mentoring, and supplemental
enrichment activities. The program aligns strongly with the Steans Center's strategic priorities to engage the city to extend classroom learning, prepare students to be socially responsible future leaders, and to pursue lifelong civic engagement and a concern for the public good.
CSI currently funds DePaul students at seven Catholic schools in the Chicago area:
San Miguel School in Back of the Yards
Josephinum Academy in Wicker Park
Maternity BVM in Humboldt Park
St. Pius V in Pilsen
St. Agatha in North Lawndale
NEW! Holy Trinity High School in Wicker Park
NEW! Providence Family Services in Humboldt Park
